Article: I went strawberry picking.

I went strawberry picking.

Hello, everyone.

This is NAGINOWA staff.

I went strawberry picking the other day!

In Japan, strawberry picking—and fruit picking in general—is a fun event where you can eat as much as you want within a set time limit, allowing you to enjoy plenty of seasonal fruit.

Just look at these bright red, delicious-looking strawberry!

They were sweet and tart, juicy, and the refreshing sweetness spread through my mouth—they were absolutely amazing.

There was even heart-shaped strawberry.

Isn't it cute?

I hear that fruit picking in the U.S. is called “U-pick.”

U-pick apparently offers harvesting experiences and on-site shops where people actively buy produce, but in Japan, fruit picking often involves all-you-can-eat on the spot, and only about half the visitors actually buy them. If anything, it’s more of a casual, one-off event that people enjoy.

To all of our NAGINOWA customers, why not try participating in strawberry picking in Japan when you visit during the winter or spring?

That’s all for today.

NAGINOWA is an e-commerce store offering high-quality Japanese bonsai pots and gardening supplies.
In our staff blog, the staff who run this e-commerce store in Japan write about their daily lives as they please.
