This is Shigaraki ware. Shigaraki ware is a type of pottery produced mainly in the Koga District of Shiga Prefecture. It is known for its large ceramic pieces, and historically, it was famous for making hibachi (charcoal braziers). Today, Shigaraki ware includes many plant pots, flower vases, and hand-washing basins. Additionally, Shigaraki ware is widely known for its ceramic statues of tanuki (raccoon dogs), which are famous both nationally and internationally.
