This is a Shigaraki ware bonsai pot.

The complex blue color, which seems darker than blue and lighter than dark blue, contrasts beautifully with the brown of the lower layer, but this lovely pot looks like a lovely creature with rounded feet.

The blue ground of the upper layer is glazed and smooth, while the brown ground of the lower layer is unglazed and more earthy to the touch.
