Kutaniyaki is a type of pottery produced mainly in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Kaga City was named after Kutani Village, where Kutani ware was first produced. The characteristic feature of Kutaniyaki is its gorgeous design. The detailed patterns are beautifully painted using a wide variety of colors. The colorful designs in blues, greens, reds, golds, and other shades that evoke a sense of Japanese harmony attract many ceramic fans.
