A black Banko-yaki bonsai pot with a subtle striped texture across the surface.

At first glance it appears simple, but the fine ridges give it a refined, modern look that adds quiet sophistication to any space.

Perfect as a stylish accent for your room or bonsai display.

Since each item is individually handmade, there may be differences in appearance and feel from product to product. Please understand this beforehand.

This is Banko-yaki. Banko-yaki is a type of pottery produced mainly in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture. It originated in the middle of the Edo period (1603-1868) and was named after the wish that the work would remain forever. "Ban" means "everything." "Ko" means "months and days gone by." In addition to bonsai pots, it is also resistant to fire, such as kyusu (teapots) and earthenware pots.
