Our Shipping PolicyThis is a high-end bonsai pot. Since each piece is very close to one of a kind, we recommend making your decision early if you are considering it.
At first glance, this pot may look like a shallow and compact piece suited mainly for experienced growers. However, please take a look at the second image. It is actually a size 5 pot, which makes it relatively spacious.
Even though the pot is shallow, its larger size means it holds a good amount of soil and water. Because of this, it does not require watering as frequently as smaller pots, making it surprisingly manageable even for those who are not yet very familiar with bonsai care.
It is especially recommended for those who have just started bonsai but would like to plant their tree in a shallow pot to create a more authentic look. It is also a wonderful option for anyone thinking about repotting their bonsai into a slightly larger pot.
Since each piece is made by hand, there may be differences in appearance and feel from item to item. Please understand this beforehand.
Tokonameyaki is a type of pottery produced mainly in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. Tokoname ware is very famous for its vermilion teapots. In addition to kyusu, terra cotta tiles are also famous, and this pottery is also useful as a building material. Terra-cotta-colored pottery is also often produced as bonsai pots, but the aging of the artisans is a real problem in this region, and the problem of successors is becoming more serious.
