Matcha Whisk Chasen 80-tine (Bamboo)
- The tea whisk made by craftsmen in Nara, Japan, is made from carefully selected bamboo through a number of processes.
- The bamboo is gradually curled toward the tip of the whisk. This gives the bamboo just the right amount of elasticity to allow for quick and easy tea whisking without damaging the tea bowl. Each tip is chamfered so that the liquid tea leaves the bowl after the tea has been served. The curled part will be straightened when you start using it. This craftsmanship is a pleasure only before use.
- A single bamboo is split then tied with a black string so that it faces inward. Bamboo tea whisk inevitably cracks at the handle. But even if there are cracks, the bamboo tea whisk can be used without falling apart.
- The plastic case is for shipping, so please do not use it to store after usage (it may mold).
