This is a Shigaraki-ware rice bowl.

This donburi has a simple pattern of indigo lines on a white background.

Because of its simplicity, it is sure to be a good match for Japanese rice bowls. Katsu-don (pork cutlet bowl), oyakodon (chicken and egg bowl), gyudon (beef bowl), unadon (eel bowl), soborodon (rice topped with grated yam). You can have anything you like.

This is Shigaraki ware. Shigaraki ware is a pottery produced mainly in the area around Koga County, Shiga Prefecture. Shigaraki is good at making large ceramics, and in the past, hibachi (brazier) was often made. In modern times, flowerpots, vases, and washbasins are also widely produced. Shigaraki ware is also famous throughout Japan and the world for its raccoon dog figurines.
